Question
What a gentle-start or maintenance plan is for
Not yet reviewed by a clinician. Written and fact-checked by the TRD Labs team; last updated 2026-10-07.
Note
The two situations
Some people want to begin carefully. Some people have reached where they wanted to be and want to stay there. Both are served by the lower-intensity plan, and the reason they share one is commercial rather than clinical: it is the same service.
What it is not
It is not a lighter version of a medication, a different dose we have decided on, or a way to pay less for the same thing. Dosing is the clinician's decision and it is not something a plan name determines.
We are not going to tell you which medication is more effective for you. That is a clinical judgement about your history, and anyone answering it on a marketing page is guessing or selling. What we can do is show you what each option costs and what the process is, so the conversation with a clinician starts from facts rather than from a price you have to reverse-engineer.
Moving between plans
You can change plan at the end of a paid period from your account. A change that would alter a prescription goes through the clinician rather than through a billing screen.
Questions
- Is a maintenance plan a lower dose?
- A plan is not a dose. Dosing is decided by the clinician reviewing your case, not by which plan you bought.
- Can I move between plans?
- Yes, at the end of a paid period, from your account. A change that would alter a prescription goes through the clinician.
